Cameron vs. Rockdale

(CAMERON)  The 2nd ranked Cameron Yoemen took back possession of the bell Friday in dominating fashion, beating rival Rockdale at Yoe Stadium, 34-0 in their home opener.  The Yoe defense was suffocating, holding the Tigers to 1 net yard on the ground, and under 100 yards through the air.  Meanwhile, offensively, quarterback Jason Kopriva threw for 189 yards and 4 touchdowns.  The Yoemen would overcome 2 interceptions and a fumble to stay perfect on the year, moving to 3-0.  Cameron jumped out to a 20-0 half-time lead, after scoring in the first quarter on the first of a pair of 5-yard touchdown plays from Kopriva to Zach Felts.  Following that late first quarter score, Kopriva connected with Austin Christy, who raced 71 yards for the game`s longest scoring play.  Tyler Sapp put the Yoemen out in front by 3 scores, when he scooped up a Tiger fumble and sprinted 50 yards for another Yoe touchdown.  Following the game, Coach Rick Rhoades applauded his team`s defense (091512-rhoades).  The Yoemen have a bye week next week, and then open district 13-2A-D1 against Salado at Yoe Field, Friday September 28th.
In other scores Friday, Milano upped their record to 3-0, beating Iola, 35-8.  Thorndale fell to Florence, 20-13.  Rosebud Lott hammered Valley Mills, 45-0.  10th ranked Rogers nipped Troy, 14-10.  Bartlett downed Central Texas Christian, 20-8.  Temple was blanked by Southlake Carroll, 34-0.  Belton over Bryan, 42-16.  Thrall beat Jarrell, 42-27.  Moody was a winner over Holland, 40-18.  Bremond beat Granger, 30-21.  Buckholts fell to Tomball Homeschool Christian, 62-50.
